Ryanair cancels routes to Fuerteventura, leaving 5,000 people without flights

The low cost airline Ryanair has decided to stop operating in Fuerteventura from 31 January 2009, which has left 5,000 people who had booked airline tickets without your winter vacation.

Ryanair justifies its decision by the breach of an agreement with a group of local businessmen, the Economic Interest Group Promoting Tourism Development Fuerteventura-to promote the island as a tourist destination.

The decision marks the end of 23 weekly services in nine international routes to Fuerteventura from 31 January, after-as-Ryanair have made efforts to encourage the IEA to enforce the agreement they had signed.

The company refunded the amount of the ticket, but refuses to compensate passengers for hire or accommodation bookings they have made, even those that have been made through its own website.

Ryanair to shut down services to and from Fuerteventura are Birmingham (three flights per week), Bremen (two), Dublin (twice), Düsseldorf (one), East Midlands (three), Frankfurt (twice), Liverpool (three), London (three) and Shannon (one). Ryanair has stated that since he began flying in Fuerteventura in 2006 the annual number of passengers has increased by over 100 from about 2,000 travelers to over 250,000.

FUERTEVENTURA 2009 EXPEDITION

On Friday, March 6, 2009, my partner and I Inigo, we got up from bed at a stretch, 5.15 in the morning, we looked at, smiled and shouted: "empiezaaaa the aventuraaaaa." We did not know what would happen in this week, just knew that we were flying to Fuerteventura and other land there would know, other people, other customs, another think and live!

And so it was, after catching the plane at 7 am in "Bilbao" came through "Madrid" to "Fuerteventura" due to a small delay we had to wait over an hour he reached a "bus" we moved to the hotel "Iberostar Palace Fuerteventura," but that was no problem .. and also took the opportunity to request information in an office inside the airport .. they gave us a "map of the island" to which then we'd get much "juice".

So about 16:30 we reached the hotel, there we were waiting for: The Director (Sr.Aurelio Mark) and "Juanjo" (Head of Reception), exchanged a few words, all overflowing joy on both sides, it looked like we we wait anxiously each the other, talking and talking, but as said, You hungry? "Our face changed and said, knowing that the buffet was over; siiiiiiii. No late or take the 2 minutes in the pool and restaurant open for us, the staff treated us kindly, as if "kings" we tried us, there was always a smile on the face of any of them, not a good word .. and meanwhile "reception" was responsible to carry our bags to the room.

.... And certainly I think nothing more land on the island discovered the reason for the name forteventura fuerteventura-cuddly do not you see what I'm going? Time does not want to come on this expedition but it was not any obstacle sobrevivimosssssss ..!

After the "binge" of the day, we went to our room, we had allotted, if I remember correctly the No. 3022 ... comprehensive, orderly, clean and with wonderful views of "luxury" and added value only a few ladders distancing us from the 3 pools and terrace bar available to the hotel.

While I worked to undo the bag without saying anything Iñigo decided to take a view from our room .. but could have come to terrazaaa! Did he have cold?

Later in the story and teach you the beach, on site, if you remember or not leisteis before this, you will find in Jandia and has more than 28 kms of longitud.Como seen in the video had people walking, other flying kites, some brave soul-deep in water .. and you can hear the sound of wind and birds .. ayss to listen .. peace .. !

And for those who want to see the sights in "real time", I leave the link of the location of the webcam that owns the Hotel at the beach and you can see part of one of the pool.

http://212.145.204.161:8091/cgi-bin/guestimage.html

And we realize now it was time for dinner, the dinner was hours from 18h to 21h, so we took a paseito by the hotel, took some pictures and ... .... the buffet!!

UN DIA MAS

Saturday 7 March, but rose with joy when I ran the curtain .. wrong time .. again! Could not believe it! Tell you that night I was looking for the "heating", but there was, of course, what he was air conditioned .. and the "staggering" should be "me"

Inigo was laughing because he does not like the beach but I would avenge me later ...!

So we got up, showered with well water "warm" and down corriendito to "reception" wanted to see "Pierre", but we came too soon, Pierre went to work later so we went down to breakfast we Buffet.Cuando my eyes opened as "luminaries," I'm hungry and the buffet was plump, among many more things, "pastry" .. Of course there were plenty of light products but on holiday for his "aunt" (now pay the consequences , 7 days holiday 4 kilos more) (

After breakfast, we headed to the car rental booth offered by the hotel (MORENO rent a car) and there we rented a "Chrevrolet" (which you'll see later in a video) for the modest price of 25 euros per day.

! I had a car for the next day!

As it was still prontito car and did not have decided (I decided) walk in the Thai Zen Space and of course us the circuit: sauna, thermal and hydro ... the truth I enjoyed it, between the dashes cold-hot water showers and pools, the bubbles, the relaxation of the sauna and menthol terma .. I "enjoyed" as Ignatius would choke between water and menthol .. jaja (I already told you to be avenged). Of course also offered massages a great variety, but I do not want to be without a driver!

And we could not take pictures inside now I add a few Thai Zone.

After the enjoyment of the bubbles and other "joys", we headed to the buffet, not the bubbles that lead but we were worn out or the right word would be "relajadisimos ?????, the thing is we ate and" siestitaaaaaa ( the first and last that I could take the island)

Oh my good!, Which olvidabaaa me .... Before the buffet, of course, we visited and greet Pierre .. and this time if he was there, white and radiant (and sexy pics will show you later).

Ibiza and Formentera

Only 45 km. long and 15 km wide is Ibiza's third largest island in the archipelago of the Balearic islands Majorca is the largest of the Spanish island in extension (even more than Tenerife and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands) and Ibiza is still much smaller to Menorca which despite its name is of considerable extent.

Ibiza has a wrong image many times that "just to party and they have launched the best clubs in the world" and is only for young people. It really is the best destination for the night of the young, but certainly is an island that offers much more than this, you're calm and peace you can find it because despite being a small island has charming rural hotels lost on the mountain where you can enjoy the green environment and culture that offers this beautiful Mediterranean island.

Of course we must not speak of the island of Ibiza without naming the island of Formentera, it depends almost entirely on the island of Ibiza. The island of Formentera is by boat from the island of Ibiza and there is no possibility of arriving by air. The island of Formentera is a paradise of dunes, cliffs and beaches completely deserted, certainly to anyone who likes peace and quiet will also recommend it for here you can lose but especially outside the months of July and August is when there landed a large majority of young Italians, so you're up July and August is perfect, you're quiet you need to go the rest of the year it is perfect to find yourself in this beautiful place.

Activity holidays in the Balearic Islands with us, then we send you offers on hotels and car hire, remember that our booking service is absolutely free, no deposit or payment, you will pay once you are in the accommodation, then you facilitated our links of hotel in Balearic Islands: apartments and hotels in Balearic Islands, as well as deals on car hire in the Balearic Islands.

Activities you can enjoy during your stay in Fuerteventura: Car Rental, sports and culinary experiences

Held on 9 November, 2009 - Listed as we do in Fuerteventura |

First, we recommend renting a car this way to discover all the charms that surround this incredible Spanish tourist destination. In this island you can find the best rent a car I can do. In itself, a number of options you can take into account, based on quality and price. Prices are competitive and usually there are bargains to be taken. The best thing to do is look at all available alternatives and to effect a proper choice.

When it comes to food, we can say that the cuisine is exceptional, with its nutritious dishes, simple and extremely appealing. Of these three traits, the one that stands out is the simplicity, as can be found in most dishes. One of the ingredients that are in most recipes is gofio, which can be seen in the breakfast dishes in the island and in a kind of nougat native. In itself, this parched grain of wheat or corn is ideal for making sauces, which are sauces that accompany most meals. The best thing to do is ask the mojo verde, which is made with cilantro and parsley, or red mojo, which is prepared with pepper, olive oil, cumin, living room, vinegar, paprika and garlic.

Finally, you can practice a variety of sports, as the climate here is very Spanish resort which is ideal for conducting any type of sports activity. For example, the best we can do is enjoy the sea related sports, such as kite surfing, windsurfing, underwater fishing, offshore fishing, angling, surfing. All these can be done in the Sotavento or Corralejo. You can also enjoy water sports and water sports such as sailing diving, canoeing, water skiing and jet skiing. Now that you know more about the activities that can be done in Fuerteventura, do not think more packed and ready. It will be a spectacular journey to recall ever despite the passage of time.

MTB Fuerteventura 1: Morro Jable-trip Cofete

A path of low technical and physical difficulty. The thing to bear in mind is that you must take plenty of water and food, as well as typical parts (patches and bellows) because there's nowhere to buy anything, except a bareto, who stepped in the house Cofete. The terrain is a dirt track in good condition, busy by guiris in rental cars. On the way in continuous and smooth ascent to the junction of the Jandia lighthouse with Cofete. We continue ascending to the right, for once we reach the throat cut, make a quick descent to the beach and wide.

In Cofete can see a small group of houses, herds of goats and a wonderful beach. Another point of historical interest is the home of the Winter, with the legend that was in the years of World War II German submarine base, where crews were resting between missions. The house is in the foothills, about 300 mtrs from the beach.

A must visit for me was the camp set up for breeding turtles, where a volunteer showed me the process and brood care, marking, measuring, weighing, etc.. Curious to see the nests and tanks where these reptiles are cared for. This project of the University of LPGC and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura aims to improve the breeding of turtles and, who knows, if your day will come on their own initiative to spawn Cofete, I wish!
I did the fastest lap, but the heat was quite oppressive. In all some 45 kms quite pleasant. The day ended, as usual, with a dip in the small beach to taste.
