MTB Fuerteventura 1: Morro Jable-trip Cofete

A path of low technical and physical difficulty. The thing to bear in mind is that you must take plenty of water and food, as well as typical parts (patches and bellows) because there's nowhere to buy anything, except a bareto, who stepped in the house Cofete. The terrain is a dirt track in good condition, busy by guiris in rental cars. On the way in continuous and smooth ascent to the junction of the Jandia lighthouse with Cofete. We continue ascending to the right, for once we reach the throat cut, make a quick descent to the beach and wide.

In Cofete can see a small group of houses, herds of goats and a wonderful beach. Another point of historical interest is the home of the Winter, with the legend that was in the years of World War II German submarine base, where crews were resting between missions. The house is in the foothills, about 300 mtrs from the beach.

A must visit for me was the camp set up for breeding turtles, where a volunteer showed me the process and brood care, marking, measuring, weighing, etc.. Curious to see the nests and tanks where these reptiles are cared for. This project of the University of LPGC and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura aims to improve the breeding of turtles and, who knows, if your day will come on their own initiative to spawn Cofete, I wish!
I did the fastest lap, but the heat was quite oppressive. In all some 45 kms quite pleasant. The day ended, as usual, with a dip in the small beach to taste.
